MYCARELINK HEART APP Installation and Setup Instructions

BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD THE MYCARELINK HEART™ APPLICATION

The MyCareLink Heart™ Application (called the “app” from now on) is used to automatically transfer data between your heart device and the Medtronic CareLink™ Network. Your doctor uses the data to monitor your heart device. The app runs on your smart phone (called the “phone” from now on) or a tablet and uses Bluetooth®1 wireless technology and a connection to the internet to transfer your data.

Before you download the app, check the following items on your phone or tablet:

  • Is your phone or tablet charged? The app download and setup cannot be completed if your phone or tablet turns off when you download or set up the app.
  • Do you have a supported phone or tablet? The app can only be installed on a supported phone or tablet. The list of supported phones and tablets is located on www.mclheart.com.
  • Do you have an active Apple App Store® account and Apple ID or an active Google Play account? If you have an Apple phone or tablet, you need to have an Apple App Store account and Apple ID to download the app to your phone or tablet. If you have an Android phone or tablet, you need to have a Google Play account to download the app to your phone or tablet.

Note: If you do not have an active Apple App Store account or Apple ID, you will need to set up an Apple App Store account and Apple ID before you download the app on your Apple phone or tablet. If you do not have a Google Play account, you will need to set up a Google Play account before you download the app on your Android phone or tablet.

  • Have you enabled Bluetooth® on your phone or tablet? For most phones or tablets, tap Settings > Bluetooth to enable it.

BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE APP

Before installing the app, check the following items:

  • Verify that your phone or tablet is connected to the internet. Your phone or tablet can connect to the internet with a Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
  • Log in to your Apple App Store or Google Play account.

Note: If you have an Apple phone or tablet and are having trouble logging into the Apple App Store, check your phone or tablet Settings and verify that you are logged into your phone or tablet with your Apple ID. If you have an Android phone or tablet, check your phone or tablet Settings and verify that you are logged into your phone or tablet with your Google Account.

  • Verify that Bluetooth® is enabled on your phone or tablet.
  • Install the app on the phone or tablet you intend to use for remote monitoring. You cannot install the app on a laptop or desktop computer.
  • You will enter the serial number of your heart device while installing the app. Set your phone or tablet’s language to a Latin-based language before entering the serial number of your heart device. The serial number of your heart device cannot be entered correctly if your phone or tablet’s language is not set to a Latin-based language.
